Nike and Indonesia

Today in class we went further into the nike sweatshops in Indonesia. We talked about how their public image was being ruined when all these factories were being covered. We also worked on our powerpoint about globalization at the end of the class. nike's stocks would drop whenever their image was bad so they had to try and make it look like they were improving situations. Releasing quota "company documentS" and other documents showing how Indonesians were happy to have these jobs. We also learned how Nike brought in military officers to make Indonesians sign papers to work less than the minimum wage.
